Collect a bounty on people you take out

There are 5 dollar through 100 dollar head hunter tournament buy ins.
Several things are factored in to play to get a dollar amount attached to your name, which are called bounties.

  • 1'st, the dollar amount buys in for the tournament.
  • 2'nd is the amount of players in the tournament.
  • 3'rd is the previous week's ranking you have with Jetset.

The first two are self-explaining. Jetset has three sets of timed ranking for all their tournament players. These times are weekly, monthly and yearly. In order to get ranked, all you have to do is play any kind of tournaments, even freerolls. They all count.

In the Head Hunter tournament, they use ranking of the top 500 people for the past week. Now, let's say you just started and do not have a ranking. Then your dollar amount listed by your name will be the same as someone who has been there a long time but has a ranking for the past week of 708, or 9009, 3002 or 500 for that matter! It starts at 500. Then the dollar amount increases from there. If your ranked 38th, your bounty is quite a bit higher than if it is 300. These bounties are listed below each players name on the table.

When you take someone out, you immediately get that bounty. For keeps! Banked! Cannot lose it. Done deal. Doesn't matter if you get put out next hand.

There is a looser crowd that plays these tournaments. Some are just bounty hunters. In a way, you can't blame them. For example, many Head Hunter tournaments, I walked away with many times my buy in and got put out fairly early. Also, I have made it to final payouts and placed high if not first and the bounties I've collected way surpassed the amount of winnings from the tournament payout.

One thing I might add, it takes a lot of discipline to "NOT" focus on a big juicy bounty. You will understand soon what I mean.

A Foxy Tip

I only play Head Hunter tournaments when I don't play other tournaments for awhile. The reason why is this lets my weekly ranking slip past 500. It doesn't hurt my yearly ranking but what it does is make my bounty not as tasty as others. In a nutshell, I have pretty much removed myself from the target range. Unless someone knows me! Just another tool in the box.
